The use of phytotherapy in hepatocellular carcinoma – a systematic review

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common malignant tumours and second frequent cause cancer-related death worldwide. The aim this review to identify whether phytotherapy has an effect over treatment HCC or if it suitable as a combination with chemotherapy. A systematic was performed in order offer current information use HCC. We conducted electronic search articles published English peer reviewed journals between 2012-2022. After keywords were associated, 302 found. exclusion which did not meet inclusion criteria, there 77 eligible for abstract evaluation. following discarded: two case report, review, 36 vitro studies nine discussed other pathologies no regard phytotherapy. remaining encompassed 27 vivo hepatocellular randomized control trials. This selection process illustrated Prisma Flow Diagram. Amongst evaluated articles, them researched human subjects trials, while others outcomes cells murine specimens. To sum up, proven its usefulness carcinoma, especially throughout mechanisms: anti-inflammatory effect, suppressing cell proliferation, inhibiting angiogenesis, stimulating apoptosis, even sensitizing
